Introduction

Finally, after two years of Covid related imprisonment we are venturing out of southern Ontario and going to Ireland and the United Kingdom.  This will be our second trip to both the United Kingdom and Ireland.

We are meeting up with friends from British Columbia and England, who we met on a prior vacation three years ago. It is wonderful when you've met travelling companions with similar interests.  This will be our third vacation with Coleen, Ron, Keith, Janet, Trudy and Jay.  It should lead to many nights of laughs and wonderful conversations.

We will start off with a guided tour of Ireland. We know that with a guided tour that we are sacrificing our flexibility in return we are getting local knowledge that can not be found in guidebooks or web sites.

We selected Collette Tours because it seemed to have the best itinerary and came recommended by Coleen, who is a travel agent with Expedia.

After the Irish tour, we are gong to stay with Janet and Keith, for a few days, in their home in Carlise England. This will be followed by a trip to Edinburgh Scotland. We appreciate that Janet and Keith will be joining us, as we will need an interpreter because we have not yet mastered the ability to understand a Scottish accent.

To conclude our trip, we will be staying in London for ten days. While there, we will use London as our hub and explore the southeast of England. The British rail system will make it easy for us to get around to places such as Dover, Brighton and Stonehenge.

So, all we need to do now, is pack and get ready to enjoy.
