Today we packed up and drove to the town of Donegal. We are
staying in the Mill Park Hotel, which is not technically advanced. They have a slow wide-open
Wi-Fi network and no converters for North American plugs.
Yesterday I came down with a head cold and I am feeling
rotten. Also, I banged my knee getting off the tour bus, so I am walking with a
distinct limp.
On the way to Donegal, we stopped in the walled town of Londonderry or Derry, which was the sight of the most vicious fighting during “The Troubles.” It was here that the massacre known as Bloody Sunday took place. Our local guide told us about the history of Londonderry, based on locations along the wall, such as the first Protestant church.
We then travelled for about an hour to Donegal where we visited Donegal castle. It was not very impressive and probably could be given pass, if you’re in the area.
